LMN Response to BHP Billiton over the alternative report, October 2009

BHP Billiton’s response to the ‘BHP Billiton: Undermining the Future – Alternative Annual Report 2009′ is wholly inadequate. BHP Billiton has a record of failing to respond to detailed criticisms of its operations. It simply refers people to its Sustainability Report, which does not deal with the matters being criticised. Simple contradiction of detailed criticisms, without offering any evidence to underpin such a contradiction, cannot be accepted as a valid refutation of the many serious accusations being made against the company.
