India’s biggest mining magnate has now adopted the mantle of an agonised aunt. Mr Anil Agarwal is bemoaning the fact that, having been denied the opportunity to grab bauxite from Orissa’s Nyamgiri Hills earlier this year, Vedanta’s alumininum expansion in India has been set at dire risk.
It’s only a few years ago that he was boasting of soon becoming the country’s largest supplier of the metal – if not the world’s.
