The Tampakan mine in the Philippines, run by Xstrata subsidiary Sagittarius Mines Inc (SMI) is already such a focus for opposition that it has come under violent attack.
Now SMI is seeking help from a security expert, with experience in “armed response” – and it has asked notorious British company G4S to find them one – just as G4S reels from the scandal of its failure to provide sufficient security guards for the 2012 Olympics!
