London-listed Standard Chartered is among banks helping to finance at least eight destructive ‘dodgy deals’ around the world. The projects, which campaigners are fighting to reverse, include the extraction of Canada’s vast tar sands, risky oil drilling in the Arctic Circle, a destructive mega dam project in Laos, and the Sakhalin II oil platform, which is endangering the last feeding ground of the critically endangered Western Grey Whale.
