Open-pit coalmining at Phulbari not feasible

The geological and hydro-geological environment of the Phulbari coal basin is not favourable for open-pit mining, writes AKM Shamsuddin. But Asia Energy, owned by London-listed GCM Resources, is determined to proceed with just such a mine. See http://www.newagebd.com/2010/may/21/edit.html#2.
