In order to push through its grand university project, Vedanta is keeping quiet about the clearance it has received from the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) almost three weeks ago. The ministry, while giving its clearance, has set forth more than 50 terms and conditions for the university project. It also mandates that Vedanta should make the terms public so as to allow people to raise objections if any. Appeals if any have to be made within 30 days (to expire by the end of last week) which is why the foundation has decided to keep mum about it. But strangely the ministry too does not seem to be much concerned whether Vedanta is following the terms set out.
