A new petition has been created to support the community of Mina la India, Nicaragua, who are opposing a gold mining project by UK-registered Condor Gold.
The International Finance Corporation (IFC), which is part of the World Bank Group, is the second biggest investor in Condor Gold’s project and prides itself with investing responsibly. The petition is supporting the local community’s call for the IFC to divest from the project.
As the petition noted “To win the fight against Condor Gold, the local community need all of us around the world to come together and stand with them to defend their home.”
