The Doña Ines de Collahuasi copper mine in northern Chile’s region I declared force majeure on copper concentrate sales contracts following an accident at its Punta Patache port on December 18. A ship-loader at the port collapsed, killing three maintenance workers from the FLSmidth engineering company and causing severe damage to key elements of the loading facilities, the company said in a statement.
