The Kazakhstani Ministry for Emergency Situations warned that cyanide levels in the Sekisovka River exceed acceptable levels by 516-fold after an industrial accident, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) reported November 2.
The cyanide accidentally spilled into the river from the Hambledon Mining Plc gold-processing plant on October 29.
