A new report on building damage in San Marcos Department, Guatemala, says that the most probable cause of the cracked houses near the Marlin Mine, a project of Montana Exploradora, subsidiary of the Canadian Mining Company Goldcorp, are the explosions and heavy transport used by the company. Among the investors in Goldcorp are British-based AXA Investment Managers UK Ltd (US$4.3 million), Blackrock Commodities Income Trust plc, and City Natural Resources High Yield Trust PLC, according to the document From Money to Metals by mining researcher Roger Moody (see http://www.minesandcommunities.org//article.php?a=8536 or http://moneytometal.org).
