Join us as we present a briefing on BHP’s ongoing operations and the effects they have on local communities and the global climate. While the company is keen to present itself as a forward thinking and ethical mine operator, BHP has a history of cutting and running; abandoning its responsibilities and failing to put right harm it has done.
With BHP’s 2021 Annual General Meeting falling shortly before the COP26 climate summit, it’s time to closely examine the reality of the company’s ‘green’ and responsible credentials. Dr Steven Emerman, Associate Professor of Hydrology, Utah Valley University, will chair this session presenting voices from the frontlines of ecological, industrial and social conflicts with BHP.
