In a pre-Christmas call, the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines has demanded a moratorium on all mining and logging – until Indigenous Peoples’ rights are truly respected. London-listed Anglo American and BHP Billiton have been among the mining companies involved in the Philippines.
