First Nations chiefs plan legal Potash challenge
A group of resident First Nations chiefs are threatening to file a court injunction to force revenue sharing at the company, which could scupper its takeover by mining giant BHP Billiton.

Potash’s smoke and mirrors
Another day, another rumoured member of a rival consortium forming to out-bid BHP Billiton for control of Potash Corp. Three or four actually. The latest speculation revolves around Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and India’s state-owned iron ore producer, NMDC, along with a re-cycled rumour that China’s Sinochem has again approach Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, Temasek, to join it in trying to thwart BHP. There were also suggestions that Teck Corp, Canada’s largest miner, has been approached, too, although it has previously said it is unlikely to get involved.
